The Fever ’92 Girls had a very successful season and that was capped off by defeating the defending State Cup Champion Dynamo ’92 Girls. This was a rematch of last year’s final that went Dynamo’s way. This year the Fever team was not to be denied. Led by goals from Stephanie Thompson, Gabby Denning, Jordan Pawlik, and Sarah Killion, the girls not only won the State Cup title but they did so by defeating a Dynamo team that won the MRL premier division this spring. This bodes well for these girls as they head to Regionals. Congratulations Fever ’92 Girls!!!
The Fever Academy was also well represented with 3 other teams who ended as State Cup finalists.
The Fever ’92 Boys led 1-0 at halftime, but came up a bit short in the end losing 3-1 to the defending State Champs from Evansville. While these boys did not win the State title they can be very proud of making the State Cup final 4 separate times. Congratulations Fever ’92 Boys!
The Fever Academy ’93 Boys had an incredible season going undefeated all the way to the State Cup final. They had to deal with the loss of a couple key players, but made no excuses as they were in a great battle tied 0-0 at halftime. The boys came up short in the end but had a great season. In addition, this group will be playing in the MRL Premier division as a U18 team and that bodes well for continued success for each player’s development and the overall growth of the team next year. Congratulations Fever ’93 Boys!
The Fever Academy ’94 Boys had a great season as well. Making it to the State Cup final was a realistic goal for this group. The final was a battle with each team scoring off a pk and the game was tied 1-1 in the second half. An unfortunate bounce off a corner kick resulted in a goal for the opposing team and a late goal sealed the game as the boys ended up on the short end 3-1. With that being said this group is well on it’s way as they will compete in the MRL Premier division at U17 which will have them competing against the best of the best week in and week out. Congratulation Fever ’94 Boys!
The Fever Academy would also like to congratulate the Fever ’96 boys. They had a tough day in the State Cup semi-final, but this team will bounce back strong. They have a very strong team and will be one to reckon with for many years to come. Congratulations Fever ’96 Boys.
We would also like to congratulate the Fever U12 Boys White team. This team exemplified what the Fever Academy is all about. Going into Challenge Cup with 8 players (0 subs) and making it to the Challenge Cup Finals weekend was an accomplishment in and of itself. The boys continued the journey with an incredible 3-2 win in their first game. While the boys came up short losing 3-1 in the Challenge Cup semi-final this team has made us all proud and we look forward to continued success from our U12 boys age group. Congratulations Fever ’98 Boys White.
Last, but certainly not least, the Fever Academy would like to congratulate the Fever ’98 Girls on a great season. This is another group that has exemplified what the Fever Academy is all about. They have gone through some growing pains, but this group stuck together, added a couple players over the winter, and really started to jell as a team. Making it to the Challenge Cup Semi-Final was a great accomplishment for this team and while some unfortunate mistakes caused things not to go their way, this team has a very bright future. Congratulations Fever ’98 Girls!
