During the second period of Game 5 in the second round of the NHL playoffs at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, Russian forward Pavel Dorofeev of the Vegas Golden Knights was forced to leave the ice after sustaining an injury.
The incident occurred when Dorofeev blocked a shot from defenseman Jackson LaCombe, with the puck hitting his knee. He fell to the ice and was initially unable to get up, but later left the rink under his own power and headed to the locker room. According to the Golden Knights’ press service, by the end of the second period, the Russian had returned to the bench and was ready to play again.
Earlier, in the first period, Pavel Dorofeev opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the current playoffs.
