The San Antonio Spurs secured a dominant 126-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their second-round NBA playoff series on Tuesday night in San Antonio. The win gives the Spurs a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Spurs center Victor Wembanyama led all scorers with 27 points and added 17 rebounds, recording his fifth double-double of the postseason. He also has one triple-double so far in the playoffs.
Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards contributed 20 points in the losing effort.
San Antonio controlled the game from the outset, winning each quarter: 34-30, 25-17, 32-26, and 35-24. The teams will meet again in Minneapolis for Game 6 on May 15.
