Analyzing the origins of players who have featured in Serie A over the past decade, we set out to determine which clubs have contributed the most value to the top flight, as well as the most goals—revealing surprises both in Italy and abroad.
Who Has Produced the Most Value?
Ten seasons of Serie A were included in this analysis, which delved into the depths of our database after we had previously explored the topic for the current campaign only. As shown in the graphic, in terms of current market value, the club that has developed the most talent for the top division is Juventus, with 92 players worth a combined total of over half a billion euros. Completing the podium are two Lombardy-based sides: Atalanta and Inter Milan.
Real Madrid, home to Nico Paz, closely follows the leading trio, holding off Milan and Ajax. Surprisingly, Brescia ranks seventh, having produced stars like Sandro Tonali, and outperforming Roma and PSG. ACBB, in 14th place, may not mean much to many, but despite its current amateur status, it has generated Marcus Thuram and Manu Koné. Off the chart, notable entries include Partizan Belgrade in 21st place between Bayern Munich and Manchester City, and Dinamo Zagreb in 32nd between Benfica and Barcelona. Napoli suffers a major drop, not even making the Top 100, falling behind Sampdoria and Lucerne.
Who Has Produced the Most Goals?
The story changes when we look at who has scored the most goals, but the top spot remains unchanged, with Juventus once again flying high, ahead of third-placed Inter. However, Roma climbs significantly to second place at the expense of Atalanta. In terms of Serie A goals, Barcelona surpasses Real Madrid, Torino enters the Top 10, and Anderlecht, with Romelu Lukaku, sits just below them.
Napoli here bounces back to a 25th-place finish, ahead of Boca Juniors, but still behind Parma and even the small nearby club Sorrento, which sits just above Hajduk Split. Meanwhile, the modest but forward-thinking Albinoleffe surpasses Gent and San Paolo in 33rd place, as well as Treviso, which is three goals ahead of… Bayern Munich. Bologna and Como fall outside the Top 100.
