Guo Haowen, who averaged 20.6 points per game in the 2025-26 CBA season, has been crowned the league’s local scoring champion. In a recent livestream, the player addressed the negative rumors surrounding his off-court life, stating firmly, “I really don’t go to nightclubs anymore—they’re too noisy for my ears.” He also dismissed his critics with a sarcastic remark: “Why don’t the haters say I have 100 girlfriends instead?”

Once the core player of China’s youth national team and widely regarded as the most talented post-2000 player in Chinese men’s basketball, Guo Haowen saw his career hindered by off-court issues, leading to an indefinite suspension by the Bayi Rockets. After the team withdrew from the CBA, he joined the Shanghai Sharks but was later released due to similar negative incidents.

Fortunately, his move to the Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings proved fruitful. In the 2025-26 season, following Lin Wei’s departure to play in the NCAA, Guo Haowen became the team’s top local scorer. He averaged 20.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, winning the CBA regular season local scoring title. However, he was unable to lead the team back to the playoffs.
During the livestream, Guo Haowen also reflected on his past, saying, “Wasted years? Everyone has their experiences.” He emphasized his love for basketball: “First and foremost, I’m a person who loves basketball, and only then an athlete.” During the offseason, he plans to participate in 100-point games, gain 10 pounds, and focus on training.
