Most teams lose their domestic unbeaten streak even before the Christmas break. This February, however, a rare and increasingly exceptional statistic stands out: there are still clubs that have not tasted defeat in their league. Among them, one name rises above the rest. José Mourinho once again defies the odds with a domestic double unbeaten run—a feat that only someone like him could achieve.

Unbeaten in Turkey and Portugal
The Portuguese coach started the season in charge of Fenerbahçe, leading the team in two league matches before his dismissal at the end of August following Champions League elimination against Benfica. Despite his brief tenure, he left the team undefeated (1 win, 1 draw), a streak that Domenico Tedesco has successfully extended. The Turkish side now boasts 14 wins and 7 draws in the Super Lig, keeping intact the legacy of “The Special One.”
After leaving Istanbul, Mourinho took the reins at Benfica and repeated the pattern. In Lisbon, he has managed 17 league matches, with a record of 11 wins and 6 draws, adding to the team’s previous results to maintain domestic invincibility. All this, however, comes in a complex context: the “Eagles” sit third in the standings, seven points behind league leaders Porto, adding nuance to a run that is as meritorious as it is demanding.
More unbeaten European teams
Beyond the Portuguese manager, the European map offers other examples of invincibility. Tre Fiori, leaders in San Marino, have 16 wins and 3 draws; Slavia Praha in the Czech Republic remain solid with 14 wins and 7 draws; and FK Vardar in North Macedonia have 14 wins and 3 draws. Additionally, KÍ Klaksvík are already league champions in the Faroe Islands with 23 wins and 4 draws.
Six teams, vastly different contexts, and one constant: not losing. But only one can claim to have achieved it in two different countries with two different teams in the same season. And that, once again, is José Mourinho.
