Real Madrid have suffered a major blow ahead of the Euroleague Final Four, as centers Walter Tavares and Alex Len have been ruled out due to injuries.
Tavares sustained a tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during the first game of the quarterfinal series against Hapoel and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The Portuguese big man was averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game this season.
Len, meanwhile, will also miss the tournament’s final stage due to a foot injury. The Ukrainian center played limited minutes across 23 regular-season games, averaging three points and two rebounds per contest.
The absence of both players leaves a significant gap in Real Madrid’s frontcourt as they prepare for the decisive phase of the competition.
