General Director of Traktor, Ivan Savin, has spoken about the club’s financial situation for the upcoming KHL season.
— There are rumors about a reduction in the club’s funding for the next season. How accurate are they?
— The funding remains at the same level. The only difference is that we won’t immediately go up to the salary cap at the start of the season. We will keep a reserve to strengthen the team as the season progresses. Last season, we encountered a problem where we had no room under the cap and no resources for maneuvering, even though reinforcements were needed. So this time, we’ll handle it a bit differently. We have experienced, reliable players under current contracts who form a solid foundation for the team. They will be the core. We will also actively integrate young players and reinforce several key positions through scouting. Then we will see how the team shapes up. With financial resources and cap space available, we will adjust and strengthen the roster as the championship unfolds. This is my decision, and it’s about using our finances as efficiently as possible,” Savin said, as quoted by RB Sport.
