Spring sports in the 337 area code have been intense as the postseason heats up, and May is no exception as the 2025-26 school year winds down. Amid weather delays, tickets to Sulphur were punched during the 2026 LHSAA Baseball State Tournament, while St. Thomas More claimed both the girls’ and boys’ Division II state tennis championships. In track and field, champions emerged at the 2026 LHSAA Outdoor Track & Field State meet in Baton Rouge, with athletes from the 337 region making their mark on Louisiana’s prep sports stage.
Here are the nominations for the Athlete of the Week for May 4-10, featuring standout performers from baseball, softball, tennis, and track and field. Voting closes at 9 a.m. on Friday.
